Parents Education
Get parents involve in coding education
Free Online Webinars
We offer free online webinars every three months to help parents better understand the IT field and how it relates to their children's education.
We will provide zoom link to join the meeting and discuss all the topics they are not clear on their children coding education.
In these sessions, we cover topics such as:
- What coding is and why it's important.
- The future job market, looking 10 years ahead.
- The current booming fields in IT, including Robotics and AI.
- Key STEM subjects for high school students and which programming languages they should learn.
- Opportunities for high schoolers, including summer jobs, co-op programs, and volunteer experiences.
We also provide time for parents to ask questions, ensuring they leave feeling informed and confident about their children's educational paths in IT.
Free In-Person Workshops
We host in-person workshops for parents at our Markham center every other month. In these sessions, parents will work together in teams on project-based activities that involve coding or coding-related tasks. These workshops encourage collaboration, allowing parents to discuss, brainstorm, present their ideas, ask questions, and develop creative solutions to challenges. It’s a hands-on, engaging way for parents to explore coding and related fields.
Weekly Tasks
Parents should review their child’s project every week, engaging in discussions and asking them to explain the project in detail. Before the next class, parents are encouraged to provide written feedback or questions on a regular basis. This helps foster communication, understanding, and active involvement in the child’s learning process.
Parent Child Competition
As part of our STEM-based projects, every three months, we invite parents to our Markham office to participate in interactive competitions. These activities include creating creative designs on paper (not necessarily on a computer), solving problem-solving puzzles, building with Lego blocks, writing imaginative stories, tackling math challenges, playing chess and more. It’s a fun and engaging way for parents to get involved and explore STEM concepts alongside their children.
